JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Quality supervisor, the In-Process Inspector will determine in-process compliance and external requirements for forgings and also, perform hot inspections of hot/cold forgings. This position also maintains safe work practices and standard work procedures to operate as safely and efficiently as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Follow all safety procedures and ensure equipment is operated properly
· Interpret and understand the forging/tooling prints and how they apply to the process
· Accurately perform periodic visual and dimensional measurements on hot and cold forgings to ensure conformity
· Notify operator or supervision of any quality issues
· Retrieve and compare prints to the Data Collection System File to verify that revision levels match
· Complete all training requirements in a timely manner
· Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience is required
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
· Ability to lift a minimum of 80 pounds safely and correctly for extended periods of time
· Frequently ascend/descend stairs and work platforms
SKILLS:
· Previous experience using various measuring equipment is required
· Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with others in a team environment
